Introduction
The Resolve alert action closes an alert that a Create alert action in the same automation raised on a device. Use it to clear an automation-generated alert once the condition that caused it is gone, without resolving it by hand.
Resolve Alert Action
From the automation pipeline in edit mode, click + and select Resolve alert from the Level category.
Alert source
Alert source is required. Pick the Create alert action whose alert this action should resolve. The list shows the Create alert actions in the same automation, by action name. If the automation has no Create alert action yet, add one first.
How it works
When the action runs, it resolves the active alert that the selected Create alert action opened on the current device. It doesn't matter which run of the automation opened the alert.
If no matching alert is open on the device, the action still succeeds and the run continues.
If you delete the Create alert action that a Resolve alert action points to, the Resolve alert actions that use it as their source are deleted too.
Cloning or importing the automation keeps the link between each Resolve alert action and its source.
💡 TIP: Resolve alert runs in Level, not on the device, so it doesn't wait for an offline device to reconnect. To raise an alert while a device is offline and clear it once the device is back, use Create alert, then Wait for device online, then Resolve alert in the same automation.
Conditions
Conditions control whether this action runs. See Action Conditions.

FAQ
Can Resolve alert close an alert from a monitor or from a different automation? No. It only resolves alerts raised by a Create alert action in the same automation, chosen in Alert source.
What happens if the alert was already resolved? The action succeeds and the run moves on.
Does it resolve the alert on every device? No. It resolves the alert for the device the run is on.
