Introduction

Yes. If an automation uses the Device Enters Group trigger for the target group, it will fire when this action completes.
Can I assign a device to multiple groups in one automation? Each Assign to group action moves the device to one group. If you want to move it through a sequence of groups, chain multiple steps — but keep in mind each move removes the device from its previous group.
What if the device is already in the target group? The action completes without error and has no effect.
What if the device is offline when this action runs? Group assignment succeeds on offline devices — the action completes immediately regardless of the device's online status. If the assignment fires a Device Enters Group trigger, that device gets queued in the downstream automation.
Who can use this action? Any technician with permission to create or edit automations. The group picker shows all groups in your organization regardless of your own group-level permissions.
