Introduction
Level supports Windows, macOS, and Linux. The agent requires a modern, maintained OS version. Older releases are excluded as they fall out of vendor support and no longer receive security updates.

Remote Control on Linux
Remote control support on Linux isn't tied to the distribution list above. It depends on the device's display server and desktop environment. Both X11 and Wayland are supported. Wayland is tested on GNOME, KDE Plasma, COSMIC, Sway, and Hyprland. X11 works on any desktop environment.
GNOME on Wayland is supported from GNOME 42 (Ubuntu 22.04) onward. Older GNOME releases should run on X11.
A graphical session (Wayland or X11) must be running, but a logged-in user isn't required. The login screen counts. Headless devices with no graphical session can still be managed through background management (Terminal, File Explorer, Processes, and Services).
For the full support matrix and Linux-specific session behaviors, see Linux Remote Control.
