What happens if a device matches a trigger, but is offline?
When a device is offline, it will be added to the automation pipeline like normal. If an action requires direct interaction with the device, then the device will remain at that step until it comes online again. Then the action will proceed normally.
If a scheduled automation is missed while offline, the device will only execute the automation once upon reconnecting instead of repeating for every missed cycle. For instance, if a weekly automation was missed due to 16 days of downtime, the device will execute it once rather than multiple times for each missed week.
Can a device be added to the same automation multiple times?
An endpoint can only be active (running/queued) in an Automation ONCE per Trigger. This means if a device remains offline for an extended period (e.g., a week), the next scheduled trigger won't add it again if it's already in the pipeline.
For example, if a weekly automation is configured and a device remains offline for 16 days, it will execute the automation only once upon reconnecting, rather than multiple times for each missed week.
Is there a storage limit for Automation File Storage?
Yes, by default, each account has 2GB of storage for Automation File Storage. If you need additional space, contact support to discuss expansion options.
