Appearance Settings

Switch Level's display between light mode, dark mode, or your system's default theme preference.

Updated yesterday

Introduction

Control how Level looks in your browser. You can match your OS theme automatically, or lock Level to light or dark mode regardless of your system settings. The preference is per-account, so each technician on your team can set their own.

Changing Your Display Preference

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings.

  2. Click Appearance in the Settings submenu.

  3. Under Display preference, select one of the 3 options:

    • System preference β€” Level matches your OS theme. If your system switches between light and dark automatically, Level follows.

    • Light mode β€” Level always displays in light mode, regardless of your system settings.

    • Dark mode β€” Level always displays in dark mode, regardless of your system settings.

  4. Click Save changes.

Changing Your Display Preference

πŸ’‘ TIP: System preference is the default. If you work across multiple machines with different OS themes, locking to Dark mode or Light mode keeps Level consistent everywhere.

ℹ️ NOTE: This setting applies only to your account. Other technicians in your organization set their own display preference independently.

FAQ

  • Does my display preference affect what other technicians see? No. Each technician's display preference is tied to their own account. Changing yours has no effect on anyone else in the organization.

  • Who can change appearance settings? Any technician with a Level account can change their own display preference. There are no special permissions required.

  • Does this setting sync across browsers or devices? Yes. The preference is stored on your account, so it follows you when you log into Level from a different browser or device.
