Introduction
Control how your organization appears to end users during remote control sessions. This page is where you set your organization's name and upload custom logos that appear in OS notifications when a technician connects to a device or requests end-user approval.
By default, Level's own branding appears in those notifications. Upload your own logo and your end users will see your organization's name and branding instead.
Updating Your Organization Name
The Name field controls the organization identifier that appears in all end-user notifications. When a technician initiates a remote control session, the end user sees a notification formatted as:
"[Technician name] from [Organization name] is remotely accessing your computer."
To update your organization name:
Navigate to Settings → Organization.
Click into the Name field and update the text.
Click Save changes.
ℹ️ NOTE: The organization name shown here is the same name that appears across all end-user-facing notifications — remote control sessions, approval requests, and connected confirmations. Keep it recognizable to your clients.
Single Sign-On
Level supports single sign-on (SSO) via Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD). When SSO is configured, technicians can sign into Level using their existing Microsoft identity instead of a separate Level password.
SSO is opt-in per user. Connecting the integration doesn't automatically move anyone. Once the connection is set up, admins switch individual technicians to SSO authentication from Workspace → Team.
ℹ️ NOTE: Microsoft Entra is currently the only supported SSO provider.
Connecting Microsoft Entra
Navigate to Settings → Organization.
Scroll to the Single sign-on section.
Click Connect next to Microsoft Entra.
Follow the Microsoft OAuth flow to authorize Level in your Entra tenant.
Once authorized, the integration shows a Connected badge and your Tenant ID.
💡TIP: Keep at least one admin account on email/password auth at all times. If your Entra tenant goes down, SSO users won't be able to sign in. A local Level admin account gives you a way back in without depending on Microsoft.
Switching users to SSO
Connecting the integration doesn't move anyone automatically. To switch a technician to SSO authentication, go to Workspace → Team, open the three-dot menu on their row, and select Switch to SSO. See the Workspace Team article for the full steps.
Disconnecting
Navigate to Settings → Organization.
In the Single sign-on section, click Disconnect.
Confirm the action.
⚠️ WARNING: Disconnecting the Entra integration will lock out any technicians currently on SSO authentication. After disconnecting, go to Workspace → Team and convert each SSO user back to email-based auth. Each user will also need to reset their password — SSO accounts don't have one set.
Uploading Your Logo
Level shows a logo in OS-level notifications on managed devices. You can upload two versions: one for light mode and one for dark mode.
Accepted formats: PNG or JPG. Upload via click or drag and drop.
Primary/Light Logo
This logo appears in notifications on devices using a light OS themes.
Under Logo (Primary/Light), click Click to upload or drag a file into the upload zone.
Select your PNG or JPG file.
Dark Logo
This version is used on devices running a dark OS theme, where the notification background is dark.
Under Logo (Dark), click Click to upload or drag a file into the upload zone.
Select your PNG or JPG file.
Review the Windows Preview and macOS Preview panels below to confirm appearance.
Click Save changes.
💡 TIP: Use a version of your logo with a transparent background. It renders cleanly across both light and dark notification surfaces without a colored box around it.
⚠️ WARNING: If you don't upload a logo, Level's default branding appears in all end-user notifications. End users will see the Level logo, not yours.
ℹ️ NOTE: To remove an uploaded logo and revert to the Level default, click Remove below the logo thumbnail, then click Save changes.
How Notifications Work
When a technician starts a remote control session or requests end-user approval, the managed device displays an OS notification. The notification text follows this format:
Connecting: "[Technician name] from [Organization name] is remotely accessing your computer."
Connected: "Connected: [Technician name] from [Organization name]"
The logo uploaded here appears alongside that text. This is the end user's primary signal that a legitimate, authorized connection is happening — so accurate branding matters.
🖥️ PLATFORM NOTE:
Windows: Notification appears in the bottom-right corner.
macOS: Notification appears in the top-right corner.
FAQ
Can I require all technicians to use SSO? Not automatically. After connecting Microsoft Entra, you switch users to SSO individually from Workspace → Team. There's no "force SSO for everyone" toggle currently.
What happens to a technician's existing 2FA setup when I switch them to SSO? They will be forced on next login to switch to SSO based authentication.
Can I use a different identity provider — Google, Okta, etc.? No. Microsoft Entra is the only supported provider at this time.
Who can set up or disconnect the SSO integration? Only technicians with an Administrator role can setup SSO.
Where does my organization name show up? It appears in OS notifications on managed devices whenever a technician starts a remote control session or sends an end-user approval request. The format is "[Technician name] from [Organization name]." It's the primary way end users identify who's connecting to their machine.
What's the difference between the Primary/Light and Dark logos? Level uses the appropriate version based on the OS notification context. Upload both so your branding looks correct on all platforms.
What file formats are supported for logos? PNG, JPG, and GIF. PNG with a transparent background is the best choice for clean rendering across notification surfaces.
Can individual technicians override the organization logo with their own branding? No. The logo is set at the organization level and applies to all technicians' sessions.
Who can change the organization name and logo? Technicians with admin access to the organization's settings. If you can't access Settings → Organization, check your role permissions with your Level administrator.
The notification shows the old organization name after I updated it. What's wrong? The name updates immediately in Level, but devices that are currently mid-session may still show the previous value. New sessions will reflect the updated name.
