Introduction
The Settings tab is where you rename a device group. To get here, hover over any group in the sidebar → three-dot menu → Settings.
Renaming a Group
Navigate to the group's settings (Devices → [group name] → Settings).
Update the Group name field.
Click Save changes.
ℹ️ NOTE: You can also rename a group directly from the sidebar without opening settings. Hover over the group, click the three-dot menu, and select Rename.
FAQ
Who can rename a group? Renaming a group requires admin access or a role with group management permissions. If the Rename option isn't available, check your role in Workspace → Permissions.
Does renaming a group affect automations that reference it? No. Automations reference the group object, not its name string. Renaming updates the display name everywhere without breaking any automation logic.
