View system information and take control of a device when needed.

Device details are one of the most important areas of Level. It houses all of the pertinent details of a device, including detailed system information, resource usage, available updates, and ongoing problems. It also gives you full control over a device, almost exclusively behind-the-scenes.

Device Overview

Whenever you click on the name of a device anywhere in Level you will be taken to the device details or device overview page.

The device overview in Level provides a comprehensive centralized hub for managing and monitoring individual devices. From this single interface, IT administrators can access crucial device information, perform remote management tasks, view security status, monitor system health, and manage policies and permissions. This all-in-one view enables efficient device management, allowing quick access to features like remote terminal, file explorer, update management, and alert monitoring, streamlining IT operations and enhancing overall device security and performance.


Device Menu

The device menu provides a comprehensive way of managing individual devices within your IT infrastructure. The menu displays essential information at a glance, including the device's group hierarchy, management status and so on. It also shows applied tags for quick categorization and identification.

  1. Device Group - The Group this device belongs too.

  2. Management Icon - Quick method of remote controlling a device, or jumping to background management (via right click).

  3. Device Name - The name assigned to the device.

  4. Device Status - The status of the device, online, offline, or managed.

  5. Device Tags - The tags applied to the current device.

  6. Management Icon - All management options for the device.

  7. Flag Management - Highlight devices needing attention. The flag icon reveals a notes area where a technician can enter notes that will inform other technicians about something specific to a single device.

  8. Tag Management - Add or remove tags efficiently.

  9. Actions - Dropdown menu for common device-specific tasks.


Device Sections

Along the top of the page there are several links to different sections related to this device.

  1. Overview - Displays the overview page

  2. System - Displays details system information

  3. Manage

    • Terminal - Opens a terminal of the remote device

    • File Explorer - Browses the files on the remote device

    • Services - List of services and their states

    • Processes - List of processes similar to the Windows task manager

  4. Applications - List of installed applications on device.

  5. Updates - List of the outstanding patches. The history tab lists the previously installed patches.

  6. Alerts - List of currently active alerts. The history tab shows the past alerts.

  7. Automations - List of recently ran automations on this device.

  8. Monitors - List of all monitors applied to a device.

  9. Policies - List of all policies applied to a device.

  10. Permissions - List of all user accounts assigned to manage the device in Level.


Overview Details

The overview details in Level provide a comprehensive snapshot of a device's health, performance, and security status. This centralized dashboard offers IT administrators a quick and efficient way to assess the overall state of a managed device, combining critical metrics, system information, and recent activity into a single, easily digestible view. By presenting this wealth of information in a clear, visual format, the overview enables rapid identification of potential issues and facilitates proactive device management.

  1. Security Score - A numerical rating of the device's overall security posture, factoring in various security aspects.

  2. CPU - Real-time CPU usage percentage and a graph showing recent utilization trends.

  3. Memory - Current memory usage percentage and a graph displaying recent memory utilization patterns.

  4. Disk - Visual representation of disk space usage for each drive on the device.

  5. Uptime - The duration the device has been continuously operational, indicating system stability.

  6. Location - Geographical location of the device based on its IP address.

  7. Active Alerts - A list of current alerts for the device, categorized by severity and including trigger details.

  8. System Details - Key information about the device, including hostname, OS version, and network configuration.

  9. Recent Sessions - A log of recent remote access sessions, showing session type, duration, and user.


Security Score

Level's Security Score feature provides a comprehensive snapshot of a device's overall security posture, condensing multiple critical factors into a single, easy-to-understand metric from 1 to 100. This score takes into account various aspects of device security, including disk encryption, auto-update status, patch compliance, firewall and antivirus effectiveness, internet settings, user account control, and operating system version. By aggregating these factors, the Security Score offers IT administrators a quick and intuitive way to assess the risk level of individual devices within their fleet.
